blind It started a bit slow, sweet and a bit over his top but after half an hour it developed very nice. Getting fruits and feeling fresher, very elegant. Beautifully aged. 96

Had to come back for another bottle after an amazing experience ten days ago. This bottle was marginally even better! Woke up after 5 mins of pnp and showed a soaring intensity of wild strawberries and some hung meat notes, herbs, and tea. So balanced, so symmetrical, so wonderful. Bottle was finished within an hour as it was just impossible to keep our hands off. Sweet spot was probably half an hour after opening but the wine held up very well. WOTN ahead of a great Latour 03.

I was a bit hesitant to order this given age and vintage. The restaurant bought those on release and they had been sitting in their cellars since 78 according to the sommelier. The level was a bit low - mid shoulder. Cork came out crumbling. The wine was impeccable. From the first sip it was surprisingly “clean”, quite refined, a wonderful nose of assam tea, earth, mineral laced. The palate wasn’t stingy either. A measured well balanced wine, showcasing this nice terroir. A lesson in why you age wine but also how you must age it if you want to reap the proper rewards - unmoved for decades. Surely not so well stored bottles will not be even half as enjoyable. At the end there was tons of sediment btw. Very fine and totally overshadowed a nice Rousseau CSJ 02 side by side.

Despite solid provenance/fill/color, this wine was sadly marred by buckets of VA.

Stunning nose. Smoky, rich. Cedar and chalk in the mouth. Matched with venison beautifully.
