Changes with every sniff. Complex aromatics of honey, apricot, marmalade and earth. There’s still flesh and the taste of Mirabelle plum. It is just drying out a tad on the back-end but is a cerebral, engaging wine that is a joy to drink.

Recorked in 1991 still very youthful redish dark amber. Incredibly fresh fruit expression, strong presence of botrytis, incredible concentration but airy palate and endless finish.

Perfect level for age (very top shoulder), amber, lively colour, fresh, pungent an deep bouquet like sercial madeira (but not maderized). The taste was balanced with good acidity and an remaining sweetness. An extraordinary experience; as a sauternes, I maybe had to stop with 89 points, but as a complex wine with so much purity and balance I give 91 points. A very special Yquem that was perfect with fresh goat cheese and triple crème cheese. Thanks to Gert Jan and Fien who brought this bottle. The only thing I could do, was to serve them the '26 La Gaffelière Naudes.

This one had a darker colour than the 1925. a very delicate nose of crème brulee. Not very expressive, but still attractive. This wine is clearly fatter than the 1925 and there is some exciting combination of acidity and sweetness. Almonds, honey, nougat. Nice bitter finish.
Sandrine told that the harvest took place over 2 months in 1936

Chateau d'Yquem Masterclass (Amber, Hong Kong): Nice botrytis nose. Bright amber. A marmalade nose but not much fruit on the palate. Not great balance - seemed a little acidic.
