pale salmon and small bubbles. fresh strawberry and red apples on a nose punctuated with gentle brioche notes. soft and round on entry, it takes a moment for the fruit to unfold, and it does so in fresh, subtle and crunchy red berry layers with spring herb accents. bright acidic lift and good length.

A bit of red apple on the nose and taste. Very nice balance; crisp; refreshing. Very pleasant, although there doesn't seem to be a lot going on beyond the basics. This may be my first time with the rose and it seems a touch heavier than the non-rose, which I had immediately following this one. All in all though, not much difference between the two.

Our house rose' "Champagne". Roederer is very successful in the Anderson Valley! Superb balance, fruit and bubbles! This is always dialed in and a solid value at just under $30 in a mixed case purchase locally. We cap it and drink it over multiple nights.

seamless, getting a stickiness to palate good thickness, some creme brulee on nose, nice just sipping slow on this first big pour, savory and find this rather enjoyable right off cork...I just want to slowly sip this one...uncomplicated in best way , a serene vibe with cool kinda sweet sour red fruit and apple sticking as flavors on finish

a lot of good notes on this wine... out of magnum it's a step up in quality... lightly colored pink with very fine mousse, on the nose strawberry and red apple with floral notes... some light background yeasty aromas, no obvious oak. on the palate medium dosage feel, high acids, nice fresh midpalate, finishes with nice finesse and texture for a NW sparkler. about as good a NW sparkler can be, especially in this format.

Very lite on its feet sparkler. Floral strawberry, red fruits, mineral with some moderate yeast notes. Seems very true to the Roederer house style. Very much recommended for a rose sparkler.

Once again, this sparkling Rose over-delivers! Great QPR, IMO. Nothing special, but a solid performer. Nose shows plenty of red fruit, some floral notes and some hay, with hints of brioche. Palate shows strawberry, toast, some raspberry and some minerality. A very nice starter wine! Solid 90 points.

I am not a great judge of sparkling wines but this one was very nice and pleasing to the palate with a spanakopita appetizer and my Cousin who is a sparkling wine aficionado said it was an excellent Brut Rose.

The Fifth Annual Largest Blind Tasting of American Sparkling Wine: Retail $36. 56% Pinot Noir, 44% Chardonnay. Light to medium, with a scrumptious nose: sweet nectarine and cherry. Fantastic on the palate as well with a near-perfect balance of red fruit, zingy acidity, and layers of complexity. Yowza. Fantastic. 95+ Points.
Is there a better sub $30 sparkling rose"??? I'm often disappointed by many French versions for twice the price. This is my "go to" unless I want to step up to a NV Vilmart Cuvee Rubis. 92+ Great TG rose' with the extended family!

Excellent - the Pinot in this blend bestows an elegant richness beyond what's found in the Brut bottling. Both are terrific, but this Rose would better match with creamy, savory sauces on the plate. Yum.

The Fourth Annual World’s Largest Blind Tasting of American Sparkling Wine; 12/20/2021-12/23/2021: Retail $36. 56% Pinot Noir, 44% Chardonnay. Right down the middle of the road when it comes to color, a light pink with salmon accents. An inviting nose of rose petals and cherry fruit with a subtle nuttiness, maybe macadamia (?), which I find interesting and compelling. The palate is a magnificent blend of tart red fruit and a zingy, unifying acidity. Yowza, this is really good.
Twist your complexity hat a tad and don't overthink this. Just absolutely delicious and way drier than the white version. All I could think of was bruised Washington red apples and toast. My kinda jam here...The French style of Roederer is actually noticeable in this bottling from AV. A find! We found a new mid week Champagne until further notice...Thank you Chablis!
Strong aroma with some rose. Full bodied with strong acidity and a fair amount of tannins for a rose. Stands up to food well, but not as elegant as some champagne or good cremant.

Retail $35. Under DIAM. 56% Pinot Noir, 44% Chardonnay. I have tried countless iterations of this wine, which some contend is the "best" American sparkling wine (I would contend that there are others, cough, Domaine Carneros, cough, in contention) and this is indeed fantastic. But. Based on my notes, it might just be a tad inconsistent between bottlings. My first two stabs at this wine, I rated both wines an 89 but the third I placed quite a bit higher (93). While I am the first to admit that ratings are arbitrary, this now fourth bottle (for which I have written a "formal" note) falls decidedly in between. There are all the requisites to make this a stellar sparkler: great aromatics, fantastic fruit, tangy tartness, lengthy finish. But. This wine, more than the other Roederer Estate Rosés I have tried, comes off as a tad sweet. Not cloying by any stretch of the imagination, but, at a time when sparklers seem to be transitioning to an increasingly drier style, this wine has just a few grams per liter more than I would like. Still, a stellar example of what Californian sparkling wine can be.
One of the better bottles of sparkling wine I have had in a while. Appealing balance of fruit and substance. Lasting bubbles, serious acid, tangy, zippy, and satisfying.
Strawberry, peach and light toast notes on the nose. Just light of medium bodied (12.5% ABV) with strawberry upfront, backed by rounded cherry and peach notes through the middle. Very good balance and fruit expression through the mid-body. Lightly tart acidity on the backside leading to a very clean finish. Overall, well integrated and enough structural notes for contrast, but harmonious throughout.

12% abv. Disgorged 11/2013. Pale salmon, light copper color. Not a ton of bubbles left, mousse dissipates rather quickly. Nice acidity, bright red fruits on palate turning to marzipan and brioche on finish. Good QPR. Best served cold, with food.

Very classic Roederer taste. Reminds me of Cristal more than the standard Brut. Very light tint to the wine. If you did not know it was a Rose you may mistake for a standard Brut. More fruit up front that the traditional R Estate Brut. High acid with a bit of bite upfront. A bit of an vintage taste for a NV. Notes of dried fruits and toast. Not a sparkler I will likely buy again but did enjoy it.

Sushi & Pizza on the Penthouse Deck (David's Place, Mpls): Light salmon color. Drank a glass over 30 minutes. This is always so reliable. But it goes far beyond reliability, it really is an enjoyable wine to drink. Very well made, balanced and refined, delicate strawberry notes, fresh, with such a pleasant yeastiness, bread dough, and crisp stony minerals. This stands up to an awful lot of Champagnes at twice the tariff.

I opened my all round favorite CA Rose sparkler Roederer Estate along side a Chandon Sparkling Rose' tonight. I still easily prefer the overall balance and resonance of the Roederer which is akin to playing my 96 Les Paul Goldtop in favor of something new and shinny hanging on rack. The Roederer has the soul of an older wine combined with vibrant freshness and purity. Roederer Estate Rose' remains my first choice, go to rose' "champagne". Paid $28.50, easily drinks like $50+. 1/2 btl of each left for tomorrow night.

Rich but balanced. Soaring red fruit, great acid. Lots of other good notes on the various components of this. Always lovely in the magnums, this particular one was apparently a base wine of 2015 and disgorged in 2019. Seems to me one of the better bottles of the rose we have ever had.

Pale ruby red. Strawberry notes, some minerality, orange rind bitterness and hints of yeast. Fine bubbles, with a lively and frothy mousse. It is a fruit forward rosé. You can tell this isn't Champagne but it is so enjoyable, it doesn't need to be. Definitely one of my favorite domestic sparklers.

Old World from the New World (Amy & Scott's): So much fruit that the mouthfeel seems slightly sweet. Similar to the last bottle I had in 2016, this seemed to be just fruit and fizz. I wouldn't kick this out of bed, but some acidity, minerality and yeast would do wonders for this wine.

Great QPR, IMO. This wine is a little on the sweet side, but not annoyingly sweet. I think it is a crowd pleaser; non-wine drinkers will like it, and wine drinkers will find it more than palatable! The sparking wine has a nice pink color with decent bubbles. On the nose, you get red fruits, a little honeysuckle and brioche. The palate has a few layers, starting with strawberry and toast...then a decent finish with some raspberries and cream flavors. All in all, a decent sparkling wine at a very good price.

Champagne & Sushi (Masu, Mpls, MN): Light salmon color. Drank a glass over 20 minutes. For a wine that "didn't count", this was drinking brilliantly. As much as I have always enjoyed this, I was even more enamoured tonight. Roederer does such a fantastic job with their Anderson Valley sparklers. These are excellent wines that can be had for reasonable prices and they represent extaordinary vaues. Many a rose Champagne pales in comparison. New Years Day: Vrai Champagne, Third Annual Edition: Drank this next to the '11 Loius Roederer Rose in a fun little comparison. There are a lot of stylistic similarities I'd say, but I think the class of the '11 shines through in terms of overall complexity. Less fruit driven and more about grace and texture with a lacy mouthfeel and a fine minerality. It's all about the subtleties here. The Estate version has always been a favorite and a great QPR buy in sparkling rose and it held it's own with it's big sister. More fruit forward with strawberry fruit, but still carrying a level of finesse and clarity not seen on many roses domestic or otherwise.

Roederer Estate CA has the touch. I don't think you can find a better sparkler value of this quality. The wines are always exceedingly well balanced, show depth, energy and character. I think it is safe to say that I have always been a fan of Roederer Estate and I pulled this after chaperoning my son’s first “official” date with his first “official” girlfriend. It was not a particularly harrowing experience, but I do not need much prodding to pop a bottle of bubbles. Rich salmon color with notes of cherry and other small red berry fruit and a persistent fine bead. The palate is quite fruity as well, perhaps one of the fruitier sparklers I have had in a while. Initially, I thought that the dosage (the relative sweetness of the wine) was a bit too high, but as the bottle slowly emptied, I altered my opinion: this is a wonderfully balanced wine and deserves its status as one of the top domestic producers of sparkling wine. thedrunkencyclist.com

Seymour Wine Club Meeting 8/11/18 (Home of the Slywka's): Tasted blind. Aromas of strawberry, mousse, lime and slate. Flavors of strawberry, raspberry and lime. This also had a nice strawberry finish that wasn't quite as pronounced as wine #3. Bit surprised this was the Roederer because I thought it was French. Guess they have done good replicating their operation in California. This wine finished 5th and I gave it 90 points.

Sadly was not a big fan. The bubbles foamed too much in my mouth. The flavor was more "rose-y" than I had hoped, and so it didn't go well with the sole that I prepared. It didn't taste very interesting or special.

Pale salmon color, Drank 1+ glasses over 45 minutes. This was a disappointing showing. I've always found this to be a very good domestic rose with an excellent QPR. A nice starter to the evening. Fairly light on its feet, but with enough body to inject some balanced weight into the equation. Good bubbles and interesting notes of tart cranberry, citrus, light toast, and a subtle hit of alkaline.
Nothing necessarily captivating about this sparkler, but it served its intended purpose as an accompaniment to the first few small courses before diving into the main portions of the meal.

Rose sparklers seemed to be the "it" Thanksgiving wine this year and my crowd really enjoyed this with the meal, not just a starter. Light rose color, medium bubbles. Had this sparkler high on top of this restaurant called Nepenthe overlooking the Pacific Ocean @ Big Sur, CA. Quite honestly it was the best deal they had @$39.00 on their other wise pricey wine list. We paired this with an assortment of cheeses overlooking the incredible vista this restaurant had to offer, lemon, Apple, raspberry, strawberry, yeast, surprisingly complex. This was quite good or maybe it was the vista, no mater, very dry and refreshing sparkler.

Our favourite US rose sparkling for around U$22-25. Disgorged Jan 2013. This is 2nd of 3 bottles and we like the higher intensity, slightly toned down acidity, longer finish - all from extra aging. 1st bottle was consumed Dec 2013 and was light pink salmon, more acidic, shorter finish, faint aroma. Tonight, got lots of strawberry, dried fruits & berries, orange zest, floral, still plenty of acid, med boy, med finish. Day 2 no real changes (capped+fridge).

From a bottle disgorged 2/2015 (L5056), this light salmon-colored sparkling rosé is very impressive. The bead is brisk and tiny, while the nose is effusive of dried cherries, orange zest, brioche and toasted almonds. The flavors mirror the nose on a vibrant yet creamy-textured palate. Solid in the middle and closing with a lengthy, crisp finish, this is outstanding quality from beginning to end. Enjoy this particular bottling over the next two years. Drink now-2017.

About as close to Champagne as any California sparkler gets, which is what one would hope from a winery owned by a Champagne maker. Salmon pink color. Tiny bubbles with a yeasty nose. Roederer Estate CA has the touch. I don't think you can find a better sparkler for anywhere near the price of their wines. Fairly large production is my guess but the wines are always well made and always show depth, energy and balance. Lots of strawberry and other berries on the sweet but not overly sweet palate. Just terrific. Paid $23 and drinks as well as anything else you can buy for sub $45.

Although this wine is so attractively packaged and appeals to the when in the glass, it never quite performs up to expectations. The mousse is somewhat coarse. Flavors of strawberry and raspberry lead both the nose and the attack. But something herbal is also present. Some yeasty goodness also cuts across the palate and takes hold until the last of the finish trails off. Previously, I’ve described this wine as “crisp and correct” and that is true again here. Perhaps I’m expecting this wine to be bigger and rounder. It’s not; instead it’s lean and taut. 12% alc. With pork BBQ from the BBQ Exchange after taking delivery of PM from Montpelier. (as a run up to a special day). Recommended.

Judith's 70th Birthday Party (St. Paul, MN): Much better than both Champagnes especially when you factor in the price. Strawberry, minerals, lemon and citrus. Medium finish and quite complex. Highly recommended along with the Regular Brut.

Excellent rosé de la maison Roederer. Bulles fines, tout en douceur. Saveurs délicates de cerise, de fraise sur une touche minérale. La finale est relativement soutenue. Un excellent rapport qualité-prix.

Pulled this out to watch the ball drop at home. In the glass: Chilled, pale peach color, nice fine bubbles, slow legs. On the nose: Light peach & apples, biscuit. In the mouth: light/med mouth feel, tart apples, dry not too sweet, weenzy bit of bitter on the light finish. Overall a good value. We have a few more bottles to enjoy.

Served to guests as an aperitif. No notes. Overall impression: delightful sparkling rosé. Balanced elements: fruit, acidity, length, effervescence. Best bottle of this I have had (most recent disgorgement).

This bottle is decidedly better than its sister bottle pulled 10 months ago. While the mousse remains somewhat coarse, it nevertheless is quite lively and eventually draws a fine bead. Strawberry and raspberry strike a pose for the nose. Scents of yeast linger somewhere just beyond. Strawberry carries the flavor profile with a litheness that coaxes you back into the glass for more until the glass is surprisingly empty far too soon. Crisp and correct on the palate with some leesy aspects, but still somewhat lean and short. The finish is far too short, leaving you to wonder if the first impression was accurate. 12% alc. With assorted cheeses and later with grilled duck breast. (DDB’s birthday). Recommended.

Pale salmon appearance, with a delicate mousse, and a fine bead. Restrained nose opens up to aromas and Jell-O-like flavors of apricots, peaches, red berry fruit, and orange citrus. Has nice length, scintillating acidity, refreshing minerality, and just enough yeast to give the fruit lift.

Overall I'm most impressed by this wine's big personality. A Delicious apple nose on opening spreads out to creamy pear and red berries with nice chalk component. A nice bready mid palate leads to a long citrus finish. Easily holds its own versus many large-scale outfits in France at half the price of some.

As much as I enjoy the Roederer Estate Anderson Valley regular bottling, I don’t recall ever tasting the Brut Rosé. So, I picked up a couple. Nice active bead and intense mousse draw in the eye. The nose is strawberry and raspberry followed by some yeastiness. The pleasure stops there. The strawberry and raspberry appear on the attack, but from there the wine turns to a bitter, almost astringent finish. The mouthfeel is crisp and lean; a bit too lean. The mid-palate and finish are gone in a blink, it they appear at all. 12% alc. With ginger-carrot soup. Recommended with reservations.

3rd in a flight of 6, various domestic & imported. In the glass: Pale rose, cloudy (from chilling), ok legs. On the nose: Sweet pineapple, apricot, light minerals, yeast. In the mouth: Medium mouth feel, decent concentration of flavors, sweet/tart on the tongue, tiny bit of bitter, light tart finish. Liked it enough to buy some. Retail $ 28.00

Nice color. Nose has hints of red berries and light yeast. Slightly off-balance though on the palette, with the alcohol coming through a little too much for my tastes. It had a bit of a cheap sparkler feel to it. Good QPR if you can get it under 20$.

Part of an American Sparklers tasting at the BHH. Light, not a complex champagne. A little citrus, definitely strawberry with slight yeast. Nice finish. Nice for a summer afternoon.

Very pretty copper color, with a fine, persistent bead. Lightly toasty, yeast aromas, with some wild strawberries and marzipan. Palate is a tad soft, but offers fresh simple strawberry fruit, though some bitterness on the finish. Nice sparkler, though not by any stretch deep or complex.

Amongst California sparkling wines, Roederer stands above the rest. However, the rose, although pleasant and very enjoyable, is not to my mind as good as the blanc de blanc wines. No complaints on this one, but not a particularly remarkable wine. I will happily drink the other two I have, but will do it at brunch or at a large party.

Outstanding pink champagne, especially considering the price. Drank early on New Years and regretted not having a second bottle available when at a party that only had swill sparklers. Makes such a difference when toating New Years to actually have something worth drinking.

color is almost a pinkish copper. Nice yeasty, creamy, strawberry nose... with a mouthfull of the same. Loved the bright acidity on the finish. I love this sparkling at the pricepoint and would like to make a trip up to Anderson Valley to reload.

A little better then last bottle but the flavor profile consistent. The red fruit notes are more cranberry or pomegranate than strawberry or ripe dark cherry. There is also a note of toast, good acidity but this bottle was a little more balanced and well rounded. That is related to the note about residual sugar last bottle. This didn't have residual sugar but was more well rounded. Overall 88 - 90.

Really quite dry and the red fruit flavor component is more of a cranberry or unripe cherry then a ripe strawberry. Add in some light toast flavor as well. Well made but wish there was just a little more residual sugar to balance it out ( but not enough to make it sweet). I can see how there could be a wide range of scores on this champagne. 86 - 88

It’s yeasty! Smells like baking bread with strawberries on the side. I would so far as to say the nose had a sourdough characteristic with red fruit and citrus zest rounding it out. In the mouth I got more red fruit–cranberry, strawberry, raspberry, just all around tart red fruit with zesty citrus edges. The wine has nice small bubbles and a great mouthfeel.

Very pretty in the glass. Tart green apple, yeast, and a streak of cherry. A hint of lemon, though it wasn't a dominant flavor. In all a wine that can hold its own with many french NV champagnes, for a fraction of the price.

This is the sparkly we rang in the new year with! I don't have much experience with sparklies, and this is my first tasting note. This Brut Rose is made with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. This was a very light, soft pink in the glass. On the nose I got indiscriminate tropical fruit with some citrus hints. One the palate I got mostly lemon with a slight, toasted quality. This earns it's Brut moniker! The finish was mostly lemon and citrus, although as the wine opened up, and got a little warmer I got a nice green apple on the finish as well. This was an enjoyable wine to drink, but too lemony on the palate and finish for my tastes.

champagne night (binny's highland park): nose: nice light strawberry tones with bits of cherries and hints of earth. Nice and easy but lacking depth to really bring it out
taste: crisp acidity with lighter tones of strawberries, roses, and cherries. Easy going with a nice lighter feel
overall: a nice rose, but while having decent depth, it's lacking that next level to make it stand out. Good acidity and feel with nice flavors, this is a solid rose for the price, but it shows the gulf between champagne and the rest of the world when it comes to sparklers

Color: salmon pink Bouquet: subtle red strawberry Flavor: green apple, lemon, mineral, understated tart red berry with mineral and tart red berry on the finish. Comment: I was told that 1/20 of production is used to make this. 60% Pinot; 40% Chardonnay. The red berry flavors seem to come forth with each sip. Enjoyed the interplay of green apple, citrus and the red fruit and mineral. ¥5500.

12.5% alcohol. This is utterly refreshing, and a screamingly good value in California sparkling wine. I don't know if I've had a domestic sparkler with such quality Pinot fruit qualities to it ever. Pale salmon color. Refreshing bouquet that emphasizes fruit, minerals, and a secondary note of yeast. In the mouth, lively and packed with fruit. This is almost as juicy as a still wine. Very impressive and tasty. Good acidity. Solid finish. This would be great to snap up. A-

By keeping the skins on Pinot just long enough to give it some color, you also get more body and flavor making this a very interesting wine by itself or with food. Lite salmon color, nose of toast, black cherry, strawberry mousse, slight earth funk, dried citrus blossoms. Crisp and alive in the mouth....more "aged" complexities than the 750 I had last year. Bright red berry mousse, ginger ale, mineral stone, toast w/raspberry jam, floral citrus acidity. Seems to be more complex with the year of age? Or, is it the 1.5 format? SUPER sparkler.....drinking as good as ever!

BOT 244--Sparkler Night (Miami University, Oxford, OH): Nice bubbles raise up scents of melon rind and a very slight whiff of watermelon. Bubbles expand very well in the mouth, followed by what tastes like juicy candy--think yellow & orange Starburst candy, but milder in magnitude. Very clear lemon on the good, dry finish. Touch of sweetness here as well.

Evaluated this in a rose tasting in a plastic cup. What is that song about champagne from a paper cup...? Not the best place to show one's paces but nonetheless i was not overly taken by this offering. The structure is well balanced and has the right components but it does not linger like a champagne should. I know it's not real Champagne but it is in the style of but falls short.

Retail $35.

We paired this with an assortment of cheeses overlooking the incredible vista this restaurant had to offer, lemon, Apple, raspberry, strawberry, yeast, surprisingly complex. This was quite good or maybe it was the vista, no mater, very dry and refreshing sparkler.

Yeasty and toasty with subtle red raspberry coming in on the back end. Medium body with balanced acidity. I've had this NV wine a few times and this has been the best. I've had it for a year or so.

A Tasty Halloween Wine Lunch (Judith's House, WI): Pale salmon color. Drank 1 glass over 40 minutes. Turned out to be much better than it initially seemed while drinking alongside of a baked brie pastry with fig jam. Man did that kill it. After cleansing the palate it was the typical wine I usually enjoy. Ripe mix of berries and decent minerality.

About as close to Champagne as any California sparkler gets, which is what one would hope from a winery owned by a Champagne maker. Salmon pink color. Tiny bubbles with a yeasty nose. Very bright acidity, with lime, red raspberry, and red cherry fruits. Consistently the best wine on the table with a meal.

Roederer NV Brut Rosé (L3023; disgorged Jan 2013) is a very good, reliable, mass-produced California sparkler that provides good value. Nose of pear, apple, spice, vanilla, and yeast. Medium palate of crisp, ripe apple, pear, with a hint of cherry. Excellent length. Silky texture. Bright acidity. Fine effervescence. Buy by the case to serve at parties.

Overall I'm most impressed by this wine's big personality. A Delicious apple nose on opening spreads out to creamy pear and red berries with nice chalk component.

Very pretty in the glass. Tart green apple, yeast, and a streak of cherry. A hint of lemon, though it wasn't a dominant flavor. In all a wine that can hold its own with many french NV champagnes, for a fraction of the price.

Drank from a Magnum. Very nice value and excellent quality. Light rose color. Easy drinking, not overly complex.

Nice sparkling wine with nice color and tiny bubbles. The apple and citrus palate and nice acidity make this a nice value in Californis sparkling wine.

Color: salmon pink
Bouquet: subtle red strawberry
Flavor: green apple, lemon, mineral, understated tart red berry with mineral and tart red berry on the finish.

Very pale salmon color. Definitely more sophisiticated than Freixenet Rose we had the same evening. Very light yeasty/biscuity notes. Strawberries & watermelon. This was nice, but I think I prefer the regular Roederer Estate Brut.

This pours pale salmon with a superb mousse. Pin tip bubble streamers linger. Aroma is mild with tart fruit. Elegant in style with refined red fruit. Moderate acidity finishing dry. Drink with food.

Sweet cherry and strawberry fruit supported by orange zest yeast and caramel. Made in a very fruit forward style, but it's nicely balanced with decent complexity, but falls short of the basic Roederer Estate Brut. Drink now-2012. 87 pts.

Normally not a fan of anything rose, this sparkling wine from California sets itself apart from others in its price category. By keeping the skins on Pinot just long enough to give it some color, you also get more body and flavor making this a very interesting wine by itself or with food. Off a restaurant list - popped and poured. Salmon in color. Crisp and acidic - perhaps more so than I would've liked. Less upfront fruit than the previous rose we had. Nice.

Very pale pink...more of a salmon color with a muted nose that yielded very little yeast and a touch of citrus and subdued red fruit. Nice bite with a good acidic balance that went well with food, but not much fruit structure or finish...a gift bottle...so pleasently received.
